Apple planning customizable, pro Camera app for iOS 27
It's about time.
Bloomberg reported recently that Apple is considering changing the Camera app in iOS 27 to be much more customizable, with widgets for controls that will be moved next to the shutter button instead of the top right corner. This should make for a much more professional, user-friendly experience.

The widgets should be centered around a better experience for pros, with more usability in a more streamlined experience. This should make the default camera app the first choice, instead of other camera apps. However, the breadth of small adjustments and tweaks available in other apps may be more appealing.
This will also mainly be in favor of moving the other tools that professionals choose to not need right in front of them to make it better user by user.
That said, there isn't much in the way, currently, of other big changes to the Camera app in iOS 27. The biggest change otherwise is new Siri integrations in the app, making it possibly easier to use Visual Intelligence right from the Camera app. However, the usability in general of Apple Intelligence will have to, hopefully, be significantly improved before Visual Intelligence makes sense at all in the Camera app.
Apple's Camera app tweaks in iOS 27 look to be great updates, that significantly improve the usability for professionals of the Camera app. We will have to wait and see what Apple does soon.
