Not a major one, but still important.

Today, Apple rolled out iOS 26.3, which contains small tweaks and many bug fixes to iOS. The biggest change for this update, however, is in switching away from iOS. In iOS 26.3, the menu for porting data and switching to an Android is now improved and the process seems simpler. All that is needed is to place the devices next to each other and start the process. It seems like this works because Google has also introduced recently a simpler connection process, and the iPhone is now able to connect more directly to the phone. Health data, devices connected through Bluetooth, along with other protected and encrypted data like notes that have been locked, are not transferred over, a downside compared to switching between iPhones.

Another detail is that mentions of M5 Pro and Max MacBooks were found in the code. This lines up with rumors recently about an event coming around March 2nd to announce these new Macs, along with other products like the iPhone 17e. All signs now point towards an event then.

Apple also released a feature that aims to limit precise location data sharing with carriers. Previously, carriers had access to some location data based on which cell towers an iPhone was connected to, among other factors. However, now, with Apple's in-house modems, C1 and C1X in iPhone 16e, iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air, there is an option to toggle for less data sharing with the carrier. It still shares some data, but less now and more general info for location.

iOS 26.3 looks to be a great update with new features and choice in the operating system. We will have to wait and see what Apple does soon.
