This one will be popular.

Recently, new leaks for upcoming features in iOS 27 were confirmed in backend code by MacRumors. Those leaked features mostly concerned Apple Intelligence and expanding the horizons that Apple Intelligence has to offer in iOS.

Many of these features pertain to Visual Intelligence, the Apple Intelligence camera feature where iPhone can scan your surroundings and give tailored feedback and answer questions. One of these features may allow you to scan a food item to see its nutritional value. This is something that is already seen in other apps and services, where you can get all sorts of information about food before you buy it. This feature would be linked to the Health app, to better track what nutrients you are getting throughout the day.

Visual Intelligence may also be able to scan your business cards to create new contacts. As the world has slowly been moving away from business cards, it is hard to see how big of an audience this may appeal to. However, for those that do still use this, it may finally alleviate some stress of trying to remember someone's info.

MacRumors also stated that Safari, using Apple Intelligence, may be able to name tab groups based on what is in them. This is an interesting feature, since it does make things more seamless for the user. However, this may only appeal to a certain group of people, since this step is not a huge hurdle in creating a tab group.

The most interesting feature is one abut Apple Wallet. Apple Intelligence is set to be able to scan your physical cards and passes, like a gym membership card, and store it digitally in Apple Wallet, even if it does not support it yet. This is a very cool feature, since the likelihood that someone may have a physical pass that is not yet digital, or even one that is digital, but is not in Apple Wallet yet, is very high. Google and others have similar features, but it's nice to see Apple catch up like this.

These new features are exactly what Apple needs for Apple Intelligence. They do not need to reinvent the wheel with AI. If they are committed to Apple Intelligence (which it seems like they are), they just need to make their platforms more usable with small tweaks to improve workflows, not huge changes that alter how they are used.

Apple's new Apple Intelligence features in iOS 27 look to be great additions to the operating system, and add more utility to iOS. We will have to wait and see what Apple does soon.
