It will all make sense soon.

Earlier this week, Tim Cook shared a post on social media with a short video teasing new product launches starting on Monday. The video showed an Apple logo being sculpted and molded on what looks to be a MacBook. This is in line with previous claims of some MacBook being announced soon, including both an M5 Pro MacBook Pro and a cheap budget MacBook.

Some people online have been speculating that this could indicate a touchscreen MacBook Pro, which has been in the rumor mill the last couple of months. While that may be true, it is less likely that a touchscreen MacBook Pro will be announced at this event as opposed to a normal MacBook Pro. This is because Apple is planning the big MacBook Pro redesign for the M6 MacBook Pro later this year. This redesign would include a touchscreen, among other changes like a slimmer design and a Dynamic Island instead of a notch. However, there could be a chance that the touchscreen would come to the M5 Pro MacBook Pro instead of the M6 MacBook Pro, but that seems unlikely.

The other products that are expected to launch this week are the iPhone 17e, new base A18 iPads and M4 iPad Airs, along with, possibly, a new Mac Studio and Studio Display, and a refreshed MacBook Air. This is a pretty big launch, and it is surprising that it will probably be a week-long release cycle (given Tim Cook's indication that the "week" will be packed). It also is interesting since Apple invited members of the press around the world to most likely try out new products on March 4th, indicating that all of the new products will be announced by then.

Either way, Apple's new release schedule coming this week is set to be a big launch, with possibly a touchscreen MacBook Pro and a cheaper, budget MacBook. We will have to wait and see what Apple does soon.
