We are nearing the release.

Yesterday, Apple released the release candidate version of iOS 26.2. This update is expected to bring many features to the operating system and build on the tweaks and toggles for Liquid Glass found in iOS 26.1.

This release candidate version also lines up with what has been seen in the past with iOS .2 updates. Typically, the iOS .2 final update that goes to consumers comes out around mid-December. This would then mean that the release candidate for the iOS .2 update has to be around early December, which improves the possibilities that Apple will release iOS 26.2 in mid-December.

This update brings a host of new features, including updates to rankings in sleep scores. It brings AI to Apple Podcasts for links within podcasts, chapters and more. It also brings small fixes to UI elements and bug fixes in apps like News, Reminders, and in CarPlay.

The biggest improvement is with Liquid Glass toggles. In iOS 26.1, Apple added the option to make Liquid Glass either Clear (what was originally selected), or Tinted (adding more contrast). It now includes a slider to more granularly control the translucency of the clock on the Lock Screen for Liquid Glass.

Apple's iOS 26 is a great update and the Liquid Glass look refreshes iOS in a way that we haven't seen in a long time. We will have to wait and see what Apple does soon.
