CD Projekt Red reportedly 'moving forward' with Cyberpunk 2

This release could be even better than the original.
CD Projekt Red has brought their next game in the Cyberpunk universe from idea to preproduction. The Verge reported this today, after an earnings report confirmed this today.
The game will most likely not be called "Cyberpunk 2," despite being called this by CD Projekt Red's senior PR manager Ola Sondej reported to the Verge. Rather, it adds on to the Cyberpunk universe and will possibly exist alongside their current game, Cyberpunk 2077. It could be called something else all together, but if I were to place my money on it, I would bet that it still has "Cyberpunk" somewhere in the name.

It could be called something similar to how the Assassin's Creed franchise works, with other games in the same universe being called Assassin's Creed: ____. Yet to be seen is what the new game will be about, which might dictate what the final title is.
CD Projekt Red has not shared many details about the upcoming game. However, they reported today that it will be "the next big game set in the Cyberpunk universe," which may confirm the idea that it is a different story altogether.

The game studio also confirmed that Cyberpunk: 2077 Ultimate Edition will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. This bundles the base game and Phantom Liberty, the expansion for the game together. We saw previews of Cyberpunk 2077 at the Nintendo Direct earlier this year. We will have to wait and see what Cyberpunk 2 will be like later on.
