Dbrand releases iPhone 17 info and cases before Apple

Who knows what Apple is thinking right now?
On Thursday, the tech world started stirring after Dbrand sent out emails that included photos and information on their upcoming iPhone 17 cases. The email to prior customers with the subject line, "Pretend that today is September 9," according to Yahoo Tech and ExtremeTech.
Keep in mind that Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 17 models on September 9th at their 'Awe-Dropping' event. This is somewhat in line with what Apple has done in the past. Obviously, Apple expects accessory manufacturers to be discreet with their information and not release it until Apple says to. Dbrand's blatant release of their cases is not what Apple wants at this point in time.

Dbrand released the cases on their website with images of the phones. The skins and cases confirm what we heard about the design – the more rectangular camera bump on the Pro models, the iPhone 17 Air's single camera, and the regular iPhone 17 keeping a similar design to last year.
However, we can't be fully sure that this is information given to them by Apple, since it has not been said that Dbrand is a partner of Apple. Given their humorous and upfront marketing surrounding Apple and Apple's decisions, it is best to assume that they are not a partner of Apple. Yahoo and ExtremeTech also further report that "an Apple representative did not immediately respond to ExtremeTech's request for comment on the legitimacy of Dbrand's iPhone photos."

Dbrand also has a Teardown skin for the iPhone 17 models, but it is just last year's similar model's teardown images on the newer model's case. What this tells us is that Dbrand almost certainly does not have the devices in hand, since they would be able to scan and create teardown images with them. This helps to confirm the idea that Dbrand is not an Apple partner.
Either way, we still know that Apple's 'Awe-Dropping' event will be packed and still full of surprises. The new iPhone 17 models will be highly sought after, and they could have things we don't know about yet. We will have to wait and see what Apple does soon.
