Trickling down to the rest of the lineup.

In a recent report, Mark Gurman revealed that Apple is planning to implement OLED screens on the iPad mini, MacBook Air, and iPad Air. Last year, the company implemented OLED displays on the iPad Pro M4, which was carried over into this year's M5 iPad Pro, which was just released. This would most likely come after the MacBook Pro receives an OLED display, which won't be until the rumored touchscreen model comes out around 2027.

This new OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro would also come with a new design to match a new era of MacBooks. Gurman reported that the price could increase by as much as $100 on products with the upcoming OLED display. With all of that, the OLED iPad mini, MacBook Air, and iPad Air will probably not come out until 2028 or later.

It would be nice to see an OLED display on these lower-tier devices, and even higher tier ones like the MacBook Pro. The Tandem OLED display on the M4 iPad Pro has been very nice and is bar none the best display on a handheld device. It would also be interesting to see if Apple brings the 120Hz ProMotion display technology to lower tier products with the OLED display, since they just brought it to the base iPhone 17.

Either way, it is nice to see Apple innovate again with newer technologies like this and take more risks. We will have to wait and see what Apple does soon.
