iPhone 18 Pro set to have smaller Dynamic Island
This is a major step towards a seamless display.
Recently, it was reported that the iPhone 18 Pro would be getting a smaller Dynamic Island instead of the original possible design of a corner hole-punch camera cut out. The hole-punch design idea was not necessarily taken well by people, since the Dynamic Island is now such an integral part of the iPhone experience. Even though it does take up space that could be used for other things, people have gotten used to it. Live Activities, such as music, timers, and more are great for it and a corner design may not have done it justice.

Either way, the display should look significantly more seamless, since this smaller Dynamic Island design will still feature under-screen Face ID, like in the corner hole-punch design, which is another big step in removing all cutouts from the display. It will be interesting to see how this under-screen Face ID will work, since the components of Face ID shine infrared light on your face to identify you. This light may be difficult to use under a screen, since it may be heavily dimmed, but there may be another trick Apple is using to pull this off.
The iPhone 18 Pro's display will be even more seamless and easy to use with less cutouts. We will have to wait and see what Apple does soon.
