Could this mean a new MacBook Pro is coming soon?

Recently, Apple has been hinting at new MacBook Pro models with the release of Apple Creator Studio being on a day that would line up with a release date for a MacBook, with Wednesday being a common day of the week for Apple product announcements. It is also similar in timeframe to when the MacBook Pro M2 Pro was announced during late January.

Apple has been now hinting further at this timeline, as M4 Max models of the MacBook Pro are set to deliver as late as mid-March. This is common for Apple to do right before a product launch, as it helps to get rid of the old stock before the new models arrive. This is not a 100 percent guarantee of a new model, as shipping delays can happen.

It is interesting how this all lines up and it will be interesting to see what Apple ends up releasing or not releasing towards the end of January. This M5 Pro and Max MacBook Pro model may also be the last of the current design language, as the M6 Pro models look to be redesigned with OLED displays and touchscreens.

The M5 has also been shown to be a significant performance uplift in the base M5 MacBook Pro that launched in October 2025. The M5 chip is significantly better than the M4 chip and is one of the largest jumps in performance for Apple silicon. This core design being brought to the more expensive models could speed the new M5 Pro and Max models up significantly.

This would also be interesting to see how it will coincide with the redesign for next year. Will the performance uplift between the M5 Pro and the M6 Pro be significant, going with the redesign, or will the performance uplift come this year in the form of the M5 Pro chip? It is hard to say what exactly will happen but either way, there will be a large performance increase soon.

The M5 Pro and Max MacBook Pros look to be great MacBooks with a large performance increase from last generation. We will have to wait and see what Apple does soon.
