Microsoft delays Xbox Game Pass Ultimate price hikes for some countries
It is a slightly more welcome change.
This week, Microsoft announced they would be increasing the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate by $10/month all the way to $30/month. This angered fans from all across the Xbox world, especially after Xbox employees said that Xbox Game Pass is profitable.
Xbox tried to hide this price hike with the introduction of more free Ubisoft games, Fortnite Crew, and other features, but none of those seem to justify the extremely large price hike. Many Xbox fans have even cancelled their subscription in protest of these price hikes.
Then, more recently, Xbox announced that they are delaying this price hike in European countries, except for the UK. It is still coming to Xbox users in the UK and in the US on time.

Xbox doesn't really detail how long they will be delaying for, but they noted that users will be alerted at least 60 days before any price changes, so it will be at least 60 days until any price hikes come. Some speculated that it could be in response to the anger that the fans have shown towards the price hike, but Microsoft stated that it is actually to comply with local laws, so those subscribers will renew at the same price for now.
Now, will this encourage Xbox to reverse the price hike on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate all around the world? Only time will tell, and it is unclear when or if a decision will be made regarding it. We will have to wait and see what Xbox does soon.
