Apple's WWDC26 is fast approaching
Get ready.
Apple's upcoming WWDC26 is set to be packed with all sorts of improvements for all of Apple's software platforms, like iOS, macOS, iPadOS, tvOS, and watchOS. All of these OSes are set to be upgraded to OS 27, a small, but mighty upgrade that makes the Liquid Glass design much smoother and easier to use. This will not be a major visual overhaul - instead, a much bigger upgrade behind the scenes, with bug fixes and flow improvements.
This is exacty what Apple needs, especially with the mixed reviews of Liquid Glass in iOS 26. The update does look amazing, and the flow of iOS 26 is great, but there are still issues. Some spots in the OS feel confusing and hard to navigate, and the Liquid Glass elements seem to keep getting in the way.
iOS 27 is set to fix those issues and make the operating system much snappier. The biggest goal here is the bug fixes, but it is also the long-awaited fully AI Siri. The upgraded Siri will be based on Gemini LLMs, since Apple had much trouble with their own models on Apple Intelligence.

A large portion of these AI requests will be handled on-device, specifically simpler ones. The more complex commands will be offloaded through Private Cloud Compute, a privacy-centered AI computing system that sends commands to servers to handle the request. Since Google's Gemini will be the backbone of the new AI Siri, Google's servers will be accessed for this.
The privacy and security of Private Cloud Compute looks to be safe, and Apple has even gone as far as to open their systems for Private Cloud Compute up to researchers and auditors to study and analyze the security of Private Cloud Compute. This is a major leap forward for the industry, where the privacy of your data in the hands of your data is still heavily unknown.
iOS 27 is the mass aggregation of all of Apple's most recent software features and fumbles, and brings them altogether, each much more polished and connected than before. Hopefully the operating systems can feel more unified and can feel more connected than ever before. We will have to wait and see what Apple does soon.
